Dr. Sukanya is presently a faculty at the National Institute of Public Finance and Policy, New Delhi. Prior to this, she has worked with Eklavya and Samavesh, voluntary organizations working on education in Madhya Pradesh. She has been a part of the social science textbook writing teams in NCERT and various SCERTs (Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar). As a researcher she has coordinated an ethnographic study on inclusion and exclusion of dalit and adivasi children in education in Madhya Pradesh. She has been involved in curricular research and reform, at the school level, and follow up of NCF-2005 textbooks. Recently she and her colleagues have completed a study on the question of adequacy of public spending for the Right to Education. A new study on the private market on education is taking shape. She is trained as an economist.
