Professor Rajive Kumar is Adviser –I (P & AP) & Chief Vigilance Officer, AICTE. He did his ME in Computer Technology and Application from Delhi College of Engineering, Delhi and Ph D from IIT Delhi. His areas of research interest are Mathematical Computing, Software Engineering and Image Processing. As an Adviser, Policy and Academic Planning Bureau of AICTE, he is responsible for framing the policies for quality technical education in India. Some of the recent major initiatives taken by Policy and Academic Planning Bureau under his leadership includes: 3 weeks mandatory Induction Program for newly admitted undergraduate engineering students, development of model curriculum of engineering with industry participation, preparation of teachers training policy for incumbent and in-service teachers, exams reform policy and preparation of short term and long term perspective plan of technical education.
Prof Kumar and his team organized large number of workshops to take views and suggestions of all stakeholders, academic leaders and state policy makers before finalizing these policy documents. This approach helped in implementing these policies across India.
