Poonam Mehta has more than 24 years’ experience of working with the rural communities across India for nearly two decades. Her 20 years stint in the development sector gave her a sound foundation for effective management of the development projects for the underprivileged through PRA, Logical Framework analysis, participatory planning. During these years, she have worked with the Government and several NGOs in the areas of quality education, health (RCH, STD/HIV/AIDS), gender equity, human rights, women’s livelihoods and local self-governance. She have extensive academic and field experience in carrying out research and consultancies. Most of her assignments are undertaken for academic institutions (XLRI, XISS), International and Bilateral agencies (DFID, FHI, UNDP), Government (Ministry of Rural Development, Women and Child and Panchayat Raj).She also have facilitated more than 20 issue specific workshops and conferences. Also facilitated advocacy forums on the issue of women’s empowerment, child rights, land rights, drought mitigation, food security, NREGS etc.
